An implant consists of three parts: a biocompatible screw in the jawbone that replaces the root, an abutment on top of that, and a tooth-colored crown that looks and feels like a natural tooth. The jawbone literally grows onto the screw, a process that takes three to six months.

An implant is almost always an option for a single missing tooth, for multiple missing teeth with an implant-supported bridge, for an edentulous jaw, or to secure a loose denture. Conditions are sufficient jawbone, healthy gums, and good general health. If there is too little bone, a bone graft often provides a solution.

Unlike with a bridge, no healthy neighboring teeth are ground down, and unlike with a denture, your jawbone remains stimulated. A well-maintained implant lasts twenty to thirty years, and for many patients, a lifetime.

Two implants stand upright at the front, two at the back at an angle. Because of this angle, we make optimal use of the available jaw bone, meaning that a bone graft is unnecessary in many cases. On top of that comes a fixed bridge with ten to fourteen teeth, which stays in place day and night.

The treatment is suitable for anyone who wears a removable denture and is not satisfied with it, for anyone who can no longer save most of their teeth, or for anyone who wants a more stable solution. Even with insufficient jawbone for individual implants, All-on-4 is often possible.

You usually leave with fixed teeth on the day of the procedure itself, initially with a temporary bridge. After three to six months of healing, we place the final ceramic bridge from our own lab.

Ceramic implants are ideal for those who choose a metal-free solution, for those who are sensitive or allergic to metals, or for those who have thin gums. With titanium, a slight gray tint can sometimes show through; with white zirconium, it does not.

The gums adhere particularly well to ceramics, which supports a stable result around the implant. Zirconium is strong, wear-resistant, and naturally attracts less dental plaque. Whether it is the best choice in your situation, we will look at together during an appointment.

Unlike a classical implant, which is placed in the bone, a subperiosteal implant rests on the jawbone, beneath the gums. It is a custom-designed framework that fits the exact shape of your jaw, thus forming a sturdy anchor for a fixed row of teeth.

Based on a 3D scan, it is fully customized in its design and manufacture. It is a solution for patients who were previously told that fixed teeth were no longer possible. Whether you are eligible is assessed during a consultation with the necessary imaging.

As soon as a tooth is extracted, the jawbone begins to shrink at that site. In the first months, a significant portion of the bone volume can be lost. By immediately filling the empty tooth socket with bone-grafting material, we preserve the volume and shape of your jaw.

That is especially important if you later want an implant: there is then sufficient sturdy bone to anchor it, which often avoids a heavier bone graft. It is also aesthetically worthwhile, because the sagging of the gums and jawline is prevented.

L-PRF stands for Leukocyte and Platelet Rich Fibrin. At the start of the procedure, we take a small amount of your own blood. This is centrifuged, which concentrates platelets and growth factors into a fibrin membrane.

We apply that membrane to the wound, for example during an extraction, an implant, or bone augmentation. Because everything comes from your own body, there is no risk of rejection or allergy. Patients generally experience less swelling and a smoother recovery.
